Happy Holidays!

I can’t believe we are already almost a week into December! Time surely flies when you’re having fun, and I do so enjoy providing therapeutic bodywork to all of you. I wanted to let you all know that I am taking a vacation from December 15th-January 12th and will return to office January 15th. Please try to get in before I leave if you have any major issues that need work.

I will be away for a month so I am expecting all of you to practice your own self-care and comfort measures throughout the holiday season (which can be a very stressful time for some, especially if you are grieving or experiencing financial hardship). Remember to take a hot epsom salt bath once or twice a week and pour some essential oils in the water as well.. Lavender and frankincense for relaxation and grounding, peppermint for sore muscles, lemon and sweet orange for depression, eucalyptus for colds and sinus issues.

After drying off from your hot bath, slip into something more comfortable and find a cozy place to practice gentle stretching. Begin at your head and work through your whole body down to your ankles and toes. Start with a gentle rotation of your neck and then roll your shoulders. Follow a YouTube video if that helps, for full body stretching. If you are experiencing sciatica or low back pain, I recommend this video by David Procythn: https://youtu.be/gDQNqZMv1V0?si=Xun7johPLAfNCgsI

If you are one of my clients experiencing back pain, I invite you to take this holiday season to explore rebuilding your core through mat pilates, or pilates reformer classes. You can easily follow along to beginner’s mat pilates classes on YouTube. This is an oldy but a goody: https://youtu.be/oe4-h_P0K3M?si=cdHc-kFs2QPiUid2 and they have an assistant modifying the positions so that you can ease into it.

Be mindful of how you carry yourself day to day and don’t allow yourself to take on additional stress in your body. Try to practice deep breathing techniques like you do during our bodywork sessions. Treat yourself to hot/cold therapy once or twice a day to combat and tension you may be feeling, especially in neck/shoulders and low back.

As always-stay hydrated, make good choices, and get plenty of sleep each night to wake up restored, refreshed, and ready for the day. I’ll be back before you know it and we will carry on with our usual routine of regular therapeutic bodywork. I will miss you all but enjoy the break with my family and return to California fresh as a daisy.

Happy Holidays to my Prana Family!!
